5. Post-Tender Cost Analysis

Once tenders close the Quantity Surveyor will provide a cost analysis between the tenders received and the Cost Plan D. The most common comparison is based on a trade breakdown, labour rates and schedule of rates.

The report will highlight any differences and the reasons for these. This analysis is also used to ensure the lowest or recommended tenderer has included all items and to confirm the contract documents are an accurate reflection of the scope and details.

If a Bill of Quantities is included in the contract, the recommended tenderer is usually given 15 working days to complete the priced Bill.
