For property valued above $ 250,000, the endorsement of the Land Monitoring Division, Department of Infrastructure is required prior to Human Services approval being given for purchase (refer to Land Monitoring Guidelines).
The Government Land Monitor has the role of ensuring that property transactions involving government funds are proper, legal and in the public interest. The Land Monitor will set the upper limit that can be offered for any property being purchased with government funds; and the reserve for any property being sold which was purchased and/or improved with government funds.
Submissions to the Land Monitor are to be made through the Human Services Capital Management Branch.
A copy of the proposed contract of sale, the vendor’s statement, the valuation report/s, the architectural report, purchase brief, and Human Services funding approval letter are required for the submission.
